Range Station Scan

Description:

By default, the game offers a very short close-range scan, and it's very difficult to unlock all the information points on station components, forcing you to constantly slalom between buildings.

There was, however, the excellent SkipStationScan mod, which allows you to skip scanning a station to unlock all the information points. But I find it too powerful. I still like scanning stations up close.

RangeStationScan is therefore an intermediate alternative that requires getting close to the stations using close-range scanning, but which unlocks all the information on the station's components in one go, instead of having to do it module by module.

New 2. 0+: RangeStationScan now also allows you to scan all discovered modules in a spacesuit at once, in order to automatically reach 100% station information.

Use with Station AutoScan, my other new mod, which allows you to order another ship to automatically scan and visit all stations in an area.

There are two versions of the mod. only use one of the 2 versions, never both:

• []LITE Version (2. 11):

  This is the version closest to 1. 0 but easier to use (no more complicated context menu to enable or disable the scanning system). Once the mod is activated, as soon as you are in scan mode and close to a station, discovering a module automatically reveals all the other modules on the station.

  New 2. 0+: When you are in a spacesuit, as soon as you are in scan mode and close to a station, you scan more deeply all the station's modules.

  • []FULL Version (2. 11):

    I found the Lite version a bit of a cheat, so I created the Full version (which I use myself in-game), which allows for more realistic and in-game progression.

    The Full version ultimately does the same thing as the Lite version (automatic scanning to ship and spacesuit), but you must first purchase software items from a merchant to perform them.

    - Station Scanner Mk2: This is a consumable. Each time you want to perform an automatic scan from station to ship, you consume one Station Scanner Mk2. So if you want to scan 10 stations, you must purchase 10. If you don't have one, then you go back to the vanilla scan.

    - EVA Scanner Mkx: This is a personal spacesuit upgrade. This suit allows you to instantly scan all station modules, whether discovered or not, in scan mode. It automatically discovers and deeply scans all station modules depending to percent station information.
