📋 About This Mod
A Script Merger that is compatible with the new Remastered bundles, scope based scripting logic, xml definition override logic, precompiled.rsblobs, mod.io integration, etc etc
Description
It's pretty much all in the short description above. Happy Modding!
Mod Manager Redux (see here for a new take on TW3MM)
Also, I updated the logic so that the conflicts for any particular file are in descending order of priority regardless of where they fall alphanumerically. In other words, whatever mod is listed on top will win and be loaded by the game. You’ll notice that mod.io mods are always on top. That’s what my testing suggested.
Installation instructions
-
[]Extract the complete Script Merger Remastered folder into a new preferred location[/]
[]Start WitcherScriptMerger.exe.[/]
[]Select the Remastered game directory when prompted.[/]
[]Optionally, open Menu > Dependencies and browse to a Remastered-compatible wcc_lite.exe. Otherwise leave it blank. (If you have the updated RedKit installed, you can find it here: <The Witcher 3 REDkit\bin\x64_RedKit\wcc_lite.exe>)[/]
[]Read the INSTALL.txt if you want the new wcc_lite to work without having to keep the entire redkit installed on your pc[/]
Update instructions (if coming from a previous version of Script Merger Remastered only)
-
[]Make sure Script Merger Remastered is closed.[/]
[]Extract the v1. 1 zip into your existing Script Merger Remastered folder[/]
[]Allow replacements of all files (it will not overwrite your redkit dependencies folder)[/]
[]Relaunch and reselect your game directory and path to wcc_lite[/]
Manual Testing
I've done quite a bit of testing to determine how the game is determining priority in edge cases, the logic behind Witcher script annotations and scope based scripting and how they're being processed at runtime, how the new xml definition overrides are being processed, how priority works when mod.io is brought into the picture, etc. and I think this tool gets it right. However, if you notice something in game that is contradictory to what this tool would have lead you to expect, make a bug report with details so we can resolve and understand it.
Shout outs/Credits
Everyone show love to Phaz42 for bringing us SM-FAE and making it open source so we can build upon it in times like these when a modpocalypse hits. Given that his work greatly inspired the creation of this tool, I will do my best to honor his wishes if he opposes the release. That being said, I do think this is an essential tool at the moment.
Also, he has now released an updated version for the remaster if you wish to use it instead.
The conflict detection for the new precompiled.rsblobs is now incorporated thanks to some neat stuff Aeltoth shared over in the wolven discord server. Much thanks to his contributions to the scene.
I also want to give a nod to that discord channel in general and the nexus community champions (Lewis Elementary, MerseyRockoff, SP3CNAZ, & TheRealArdCarraigh) for their own contributions and this work that they authored which has been extremely helpful: What Does the Remaster Mean for Modding?
