Radial Menu Pause Fix

Mod Description

When you hold the radial menu button (Tab for keyboard and L1 for gamepads by default), game time slows down until you release the button to close the menu. If you just press it instead of holding, game time also slows down and menu stays open until you press it again to close.

Before patch 4. 04, if you were to press the button without holding it, game time used to pause completely instead of slowing down. This mod brings back that feature. There is another mod that also does this called Restore Radial Fast Menu Pause, made by paulr0013, but this one also fixes the bugs mentioned below.

Fixed Bugs Caused by the Pause

• []Radial menu becomes unresponsive after closing the new "quick slot swap" or "apply oil" pop-ups.

  []Inability to consume quick slot items with gamepad when radial menu open.

  These bugs are most likely the reason why they removed the pause in the first place. Instead of fixing these issues, (I'm guessing) they decided to use a workaround.

  If you are familiar with witcher scripts, developers added some timer functions for the new radial menu stuff. And timer functions depend on in-game time instead of real time. When the game pauses completely, these timers get broken and radial menu doesn't function properly.

  Installation

  • []Use TW3 Mod Manager or manually move archive contents into your game directory to install the mod.
