📋 About This Mod
This modification greatly expands Kaer Morhen's fortress and its surroundings, bringing back elements and areas from The Witcher 1 and adding new ones aswell. Can be installed at any given moment of the game.
Introduction
Have you ever regretted that the developers of The Witcher 3 did not include certain parts of the fortress visited in the first game? Have you ever wondered what the upper floor and basement of Kaer Morhen would look like now, three years after the Salamandra's attack? Here's your chance!
Shortly after I published my first Kaer Morhen mod, several members contacted me to ask if it would ever be possible to make a similar mod that would present Kaer Morhen in its entirety, but in its current state, however. At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted to jump back into working on the fortress, But they persisted with their polite requests and soon their enthusiasm won me over.
They were very dynamic and brimming with good ideas. So much so, that I soon decided to extend the reach of this mod far beyond the fortress itself. Even though I was the creator of this mod, they were nonetheless its instigators and provided me with invaluable feedback and insightful suggestions throughout the many months I spent developing this project. I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few moments to send them a Kudo. Their names will be listed below.
Description
This mod, which can be deployed at any moment of the game, fully restores Kaer Morhen' second floor and basement. It also aims to restore to the map of Kaer Morhen these historical landmarks, which had not been imported from the previous game by the developers.
I took great care to recreate these places, so dear to us all, as faithfully as possible. While I sometimes had to sacrifice certain artistic choices made by the developers of the first game, I only did so when it was necessary to maintain consistency with the newer game.
You can either keep the surprise of the discoveries promised by this mod to yourself, or else the list of these will be detailed below.
Spoiler alert
- This mod integrates Kaer Morhen' second floor the fortress. Each Witcher now have his own unique room.
- This mod also integrates Kaer Morhen's basement to the players (the laboratory, the crypt, etc.). This time, I managed to give the basement his real size.
- The basement includes a secret room for the players to find, inspired to me by The Nightmare of the Wolf.
- This mods also entirely recreates the old Kikimore's mine that Geralt visits along with Eskel, in TW1's The Price Of Neutrality's DLC.
- This mod adds to the map the leftovers from Sabrina Glevissig's (now 40 years) old camp.
- Many other surprises are waiting for you, spread all over the map (easter eggs from the old Polish Witcher tv series, souvenirs from TW1, etc.)
