Controller - Instant Sign Casting - No Extra Programs

If you on playing the next-gen version, use the in game quick sign option instead. I'll leave this up in case someone needs it for the original version.

Important Note:

I made this mod with the Xbox 360 controller in mind. I do not own either an Xbox One or PS4 controller. I imagine that the trigger timing would need to be adjusted for each of these controllers. If you're using either of these controllers please let me know if they work reliably or not.

If not you can change this yourself by opening the input.settings file using a text editor and adjusting:

IK_Pad_RightTrigger=(Action=CastSign,State=Duration,IdleTime=0. 07)

Increase the number if you're pressing the trigger and it cast the previously selected sign, and decrease the number if you're pressing the trigger and nothing happens. Make sure to change it in the , , and sections.

Description:

This mod moves around the controller scheme a bit and makes some sacrifices in order to fit all of the signs onto the controller.

Changed Controls:

-Right Trigger = Igni

-D-Pad Up = Axii

-D-Pad Right = Aard

-D-Pad Down = Yrden

-D-Pad Left = Quen

-Start = Draw silver sword

-Back = Draw steel sword

The Sacrifices:

-Potions / Consumables that were used with D-pad Up and D-pad Down can still be used but only with the Radial Menu (Left Bumper) brought up.

-Both the start menu and game menu must be brought up using the keyboard.

Update v0. 2:

-Adjusted the timing of the right trigger by 0. 02 seconds in hopes of making casting Igni more consistent. If you find yourself pressing the right trigger and nothing happening often then revert to v0. 1. This should only happen when pressing and releasing the right trigger very quickly.

Installation:

1. Navigate to C:\Users\Your User Name\Documents\The Witcher 3 or wherever your Witcher 3 saves are kept.

2. Make a backup of your input.settings file. This will make uninstalling this mod easier if you choose to do so.

3. Move the input.settings file that you downloaded into C:\Users\Your User Name\Documents\The Witcher 3.

4. Right-click on the input.settings file and select properties. Check the box labeled Read-Only and press okay. This will stop the game from changing the controls back to default.

Uninstalling:

1. Navigate to C:\Users\Your User Name\Documents\The Witcher 3 or wherever your Witcher 3 saves are kept.
