Cheaper Gwent Cards (LEGO Companion)

This mod cuts the price of Gwent cards as sold by merchants by half.

Mainly made to be used together with economy balancing mods like LEGO or similar, that effectively make Geralt way poorer and force you to wisely manage your finances (Very likely, if you are not using these balancing mods, you won't need mine).

When using economy balancing mods (especially if you couple them with alchemy mods that use full recipe to refill your potions), you don't have the resources to buy everything you want from merchants, and you are forced to evaluate your options: should you craft this new gear, or should you invest in more advanced (and costly) alchemy supplies to keep brewing your most powerful potions?

In this setup, the price of Gwent card that you can buy from merchats surely stands out: starting from 10 Crowns for the regular ones, and starting from 50 Crowns for leaders.

If you compare this price with some other stuff, you can see that it is slightly unbalanced (and not-so-believable from an in-game perspective too): about 50 Crowns is also the price of a Silver Ingot, and 10~20 Crowns is also the price of rare alchemy alchoools like Alcohest and Mahakam Spirit.

This mod simply cuts the price by half, to address both these concerns. This is done by script, so it is compatible with any Gwent mod that edits vanilla Gwent Cards or adds new ones!

No edits whatsoever are made to the actual Gwent mini-game, only the shop prices are adjusted, that's it.

Game version

This mod was created for and tested with the latest released version: Next-Gen 4. 04 Redkit Update 2

I don't use or support older game versions, especially Old-Gen v1. 32. I simply have no time or interest to do so. I won't accept any requests about this, if you want to use my mods, your best option is to update your game.

Installation

The recommended way to install this is with "The Witcher 3 Mod Manager"

You can alternatively also manually place it inside your "mods" folder inside the main game directory.

Merge everything with Script Merger!

Compatibility

This should be compatible with almost anything, it just adds a couple of code lines that check if an item in the shop inventory is a Gwent card, and adjusts its price accordingly.

If you encounter some conflicts that won't auto-merge, you should probably select my mod as the last option.
