Witcher 1 import saves for witcher 2

Remember, ALWAYS copy and paste. Do NOT drag and drop. Good advice in general.

ALWAYS make a backup of your save files. Just in case.

Files were compressed with WinRar. So you can extract with that, or possibly 7zip. Either one should work.

Witcher 1 save files should be in a folder in the documents folder. (Example. Documents/The Witcher/Saves) Drag and drop the one you want into that folder, then go into the Witcher 2 game itself and select import.

If you don't want the first game to overwrite the new save files, then disable Steam cloud saves for the Witcher 1.

Ultimately, the imported decisions have little impact on the story. And by the Witcher 3 they are completely irrelevant. But if you want to mess around with different decisions the files are here. There is nothing for neutrality, because neutrality is the default start of the Witcher 2. And technically the canonical start.

First file is siding with the Order of the Flaming Rose. Romanced Triss. All monsters are spared. (Werewolf, Striga, etc.) Saved Thaler.

Second file is siding with the Scoitel. Romanced Shani. All monsters are killed. (Werewolf, Striga, etc.) Killed Thaler.

Both save files have Raven's armor and Aerondight.

The first file is saved in the Ice Plains.

The Second file is saved in the Order of the Flaming Rose.

This is useful for knowing which file to choose during the import.
