Talent Respec - Unlocked Refund v1. 0

Vanilla Witcher lets you undo a talent only until you finish meditating — after that, it's yours forever. This mod removes that limit. Open the character panel while meditating and hit Unbuy on any talent, whether you picked it five minutes or twenty levels ago.

How refunds work

Price — same as buying: 1 point per talent. Tier I–II = bronze, III–IV = silver, tier V = gold.

Applies to attributes, sign levels, sign power-ups (Student, Apprentice, etc.), style levels, and side talents.

Cascade — if other learned talents depend on the one you unbuy, they get refunded too, each at its own price. Dependencies are pulled from the game's own ability data, cross-tree included.

  []Sign levels depend on the matching Intelligence level.[/]

  []Sword style levels 4–5 depend on the matching attribute - Strong on Strength, Fast on Dexterity, Group on Endurance.[/]

Protected — never removed, never pay out

If a protected ability depends on something you unbuy, it just stays put — it doesn't stop the refund.

Unbuying something from your current meditation session still works exactly like vanilla. This only applies inside the normal meditation panel — not the forced level-up screen.

Installation

Uninstall — put your backed-up

gui_new_hero.lucback. Safe to do mid-playthrough; any refunds you already made stay as they are.

  Talent-point mods like More Talents are fine — they change how many points you get, not how refunds are calculated.

  Known unknowns

  Not tested: GOG version, Full Combat Rebalance. Might work, might not — no data either way.

  If something breaks, drop a comment with your game version, other mods installed, and what exactly happened.

  The download includes the decompiled source and a diff against the vanilla file (source/ folder), if you want to check what it's doing or build on it.
