📋 About This Mod

An upscale of over 3000 textures using Kim's latest upscaling model. 2x and 4x, 2x upscaled normals optional.

Quite a simple upscale, it contains most, if not all, of the textures you can see in the world (and probably some that are not even used lol). I used the bc1_smooth model to remove artifacts and Kim's latest PBRify_UpscalerV4 DAT2. In my opinion the results are a bit cleaner (look less sharpened) and a bit less "upscaley" than the other upscale mod, but it's not a huge difference. I'm including a 4x version too, but I haven't tested long term stability, and it doesn't improve that much over the 2x version. The resolution difference compared to vanilla is mostly visible on close objects and when playing on higher resolution, it is not really "game changing" but makes the close-up textures less jarring. I recommend using other handmade textures over this (starting the folder name with a letter later in the alphabet should make the textures in it win). It is compatible with Rise of the White Wolf, their textures just win and most of them don't overlap anyway

Important: Get the 'Textures Settings Downgrade Fix' (last optional file) from the other upscale mode and add -dontforceminreqs to your launch arguments. Both may not be necessary, but if you don't see a higher resolution, you are probably missing these.

Update: Fixed some broken textures, get update from Update files!

I tried to add all textures in the game. Threw out gui textures after finding out there is no way to make them bigger ingame. Then threw out textures starting with L and two numbers, it looks like those are baked lightmaps. I also left out loading screens, but might do those later when I found an ideal model for them.

I also cleaned and upscaled normals + mixed with a bit of normals generated from the color texture. However, I don't think it makes a big difference ingame, as the lighting doesn't rely on normals as much as in modern games.

The slight differences in shading in the 2x comparisons are due to the upscaled normals. These are not present in the 4x comparison pics.
