📋 About This Mod

Removes the pauses between the lines in the Wolven Storm scene. Noticed how I did not say that it "fixes" the song?

Removes the audible breaks between lines of Priscilla's song "Wolven Storm" ("Wilcza zamieć") at the Kingfisher in Broken Flowers.

This is NOT a real fix, it's a trade-off

Removing the pauses comes at a cost. Some line changes can look jarring: the camera may cut abruptly, and Priscilla, her lute or the audience may suddenly snap or warp into their next position. Timing alone can't remove both the pauses and the jumps. If the jumps bother you more than the pauses, DO NOT install this mod.

The game doesn't treat the song as music. It's a normal dialogue scene: the recording is cut into 17 separate dialogue lines, and the lute keeps playing across every cut. And all language versions are cut a bit differently.

Each line has one fixed "approved" length stored in the scene, shared by all languages and based on the English recording (this is what we assume; not confirmed really). Camera moves and animations are laid out against that length. If a voiced line ends earlier, the game waits in silence until the approved time is up, so the animations can finish. In normal dialogue you never notice that pause. In a song it's a hole in the music. Every language has slightly different line lengths, so the breaks differ: about 0. 1–0. 4 s in English, up to ~0. 8 s in other languages.

This mod shortens those approved lengths, so the game moves to the next line as soon as the voice line ends:

  • []Vanilla: animations finish properly, but you hear a pause between lines.[/]

[]This mod: continuous music, but animations can be cut short - but expect jitter. [/]

To get rid of both the pauses and the jumps, every animation and camera move would have to be re-done for each voice-over language.

Files – install ONE of them

  • []Universal – works with every voice-over language. Approved lengths are set below any recording, so each language plays at its own length.[/]

[]Polish VO – tuned to the exact length of every Polish voice line. It may look a little smoother with Polish voice-over, but not by a long shot – expect the same kind of jumps. With other voice languages, use Universal.[/]

Both use the same folder name, so installing one replaces the other.

What it changes

17 duration values in q304_11a_concert.w2scene. Cameras, animations, lip sync, subtitles and audio are untouched – lip sync is stored with each voice line and stays in sync with it.

With all that AI craze maybe you could just burn through tokens to fix every version manually in REDkit. I AM NOT GONNA TRY THAT.

Installation

Extract the archive into your The Witcher 3 folder (it contains mods\modQ304SongGaps).

To uninstall, delete mods\modQ304SongGaps.
