Player Torch Tweaks - Remastered

Description

Tweak the Brightness, Radius, and Falloff of Geralt's Torch and Candle Lantern in-game. 

Wall torches and torches held by NPCs are not touched.

A standalone component of  Better Candles - Better Lighting (Remastered) - go there for more comprehensive lighting tweaks.

Main features

- Brightness, radius and falloff of the torch are adjustable in Options > Mods > Player Torch.

- Four presets: 10% (Subtle), 25% (Default), 40% and Vanilla.

- Changes apply within a second, even while the torch is held.

- Replaces no game script files. No Script Merger needed.

- Menu text is bundled, so there are no other requirements.

Torch section

Tune the player's torch                      on / off      default on

Brightness multiplier (1 = vanilla)      0. 02 - 1      default 0. 26

Radius multiplier (1 = vanilla)           0. 25 - 5      default 1

Candle Lantern section

Brightness is scaled through the light color, because the game animates the torch's own brightness. In Toussaint the game already uses a dimmer torch, so the brightness scale is skipped there and only radius and falloff apply.

Installation instructions

Extract the archive into your game folder (the one that contains the bin and mods folders).

Delete mods\modPlayerTorch and bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\modPlayerTorch.xml.

Compatibiliity

- Built for the Remastered edition (5. 00). Not for 4. 04.

- Better Candles - Better Lighting (Remastered) 1. 3 and later has this built in (Mods > Better Candles > Player Torch). You do not need both. If both are installed, this mod does the work and Better Candles leaves the torch alone.
