Modern Trigger Combat Controls for 5.0 (HUD Tutorial and Quick Sign Compatible)

Light and heavy attacks move to RB and RT. B dodges, A rolls in combat and jumps or vaults while exploring, and Y handles interactions. Tap D-pad Down for the lower consumable. In exploration, hold Down for one full second to call Roach while the button is still held; releasing it afterward does not use the consumable.

Smoothed the janky movement significantly. Geralt enters the running gait at about 85% (vanilla is 70%) travel in any direction and reaches full running speed by 95%, leaving a little room for sticks that do not reach the edge. L3 remains sprint.

  Controller support

  Made for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered 5. 00 on Windows PC. The bindings use Xbox-equivalent gamepad inputs. Xbox/XInput controllers are the direct path. PlayStation controllers, Steam Controller, and Switch Pro controllers can use Steam Input's Gamepad emulation on Windows; select a Gamepad layout that sends Xbox-style controls, rather than a keyboard-and-mouse layout. Those other controllers have not been individually tested with this mod, and the game may show Xbox-style prompts.

  In the description and image, Xbox A/B/X/Y mean the south/east/west/north face positions. On PlayStation those are Cross/Circle/Square/Triangle. On Switch Pro, follow the physical positions or check the Steam Input layout, since the printed Nintendo letters differ from Xbox's. Steam Deck, the Nintendo Switch console, older game builds, and other PC storefronts have not been tested with this Windows installer.

  Quick Sign Casting

  It works with the Gameplay setting on or off. With Quick Sign Casting on, hold LT and press A for Aard, X for Axii, Y for Yrden, B for Quen, or RB for Igni while Geralt is on foot. With it off, LT casts the selected Sign. The controller help page responds to that setting.

  Install — manual download

  1. Close the game. Download the main ZIP, right-click it, and choose Extract All.

  2. In Steam, right-click The Witcher 3 → Manage → Browse local files. Open the mods folder, creating it in the game folder if needed.

  3. Copy modACStyleRemastered from the extracted folder into mods. You should end up with GAME_FOLDER\mods\modACStyleRemastered\content\scripts. Avoid an extra folder layer.

  4. Go back to the extracted folder and double-click Install-ControllerLayout.cmd. If Windows hides file extensions, it may appear as Install-ControllerLayout. Read the result in the small window, then press any key to close it.

  5. Start through Steam and press Play in REDlauncher if it appears. In Options → Gameplay, choose whether Quick Sign Casting is on or off.

  The double-click installer updates your controller bindings in Documents\The Witcher 3\input.settings. It saves a timestamped backup first, stops if the game is running or the settings format is wrong, and does not download anything. Both installer files are readable in Notepad. Copying the mod folder with a mod manager alone does not complete step 4.

  5. In Options → Gameplay, choose Quick Sign Casting on or off. Start through Steam and press Play in REDlauncher if it appears. The mod does not change Steam, REDlauncher, ReShade, graphics files, or saves.

  Controls at a glance

  Geralt on foot: RB light attack, RT heavy attack, LB guard in combat or Witcher Senses while exploring, LT Signs, A combat roll or exploration jump/vault, B dodge, X selected item, Y interact, L3 sprint. Tap D-pad Down for the lower consumable; hold it one second in exploration for Roach. Tap View for pause; hold View for the radial menu. Tap Menu for the fast menu; hold Menu for the map.

  Ciri: RB/RT attacks, A dash in combat, B dodge, LT special attack. Horse: A canter/gallop, B jump or hold to dismount, Y mounted interaction. Boat: A accelerate, X decelerate, B dismount. Swimming: A up, B down. Photo Mode remains L3 + R3 together. Menus, dialogue, and Gwent retain their normal controls.
