Gamepad Remapper

Description

Gamepad Config is a remapper for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered on PC. You pick a button for each command in a table, and the tool writes the game's 'input.settings' file for you, so you don't have to edit the text file by hand.

Installation instructions

1. Open "TW3 Gamepad Config.html"

2. Change the buttons you want and click . The browser downloads a new 'input.settings' file.

3. Close the game.

4. Open C:\Users<your_user>\Documents\The Witcher 3

5. Back up your current 'input.settings'.

6. Replace it with the downloaded 'input.settings'.

Main features

- Remap gamepad commands across Exploration, Combat, Horse, Boat, Swimming, Ciri, Dialogue, and Photo Mode.

- Xbox or PlayStation (DualSense) button labels and icons. The saved file is the same for both.

- Conflict check per game context. Two commands on the same button turn red when the game would fire both. You can still save with conflicts after you confirm.

- Alternate sign casting table. It shows which button combination casts each sign and updates as you remap.

- Sign buttons. Put Aard, Igni, Yrden, Quen or Axii on a button of their own. With alternate sign casting on, a tap casts the sign without holding Cast sign. With it off, the tap selects the sign.

- Import your own 'input.settings'. The tool rewrites only the gamepad lines of the commands it lists. Keyboard, mouse and mod bindings stay exactly as they were.

- English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Known limits, set by the game:

- In alternate sign casting, the game's scripts tie each sign to a command: Aard to Sprint, Igni to Parry, Yrden to Strong attack and Axii to Fast attack. Moving one moves the other. Quen is the only sign with its own binding.

- 'input.settings' has no button combinations, gyro or touchpad swipes.
