Easy skill reset

Reset a single learned skill from the Character menu: select it and press R. All purchased ranks are removed and the corresponding skill points are returned. The selected skill is unequipped first; other skills and mutations are kept. By default reset cost 100 per points restored to keep it balanced. Weither reset has a cost or the cost value can be changed in the mod settings. Works with controllers.

Choose the price

Open Options > Mods > Easy skill reset.

• []Paid resets are enabled by default. Turn them off for free resets.[/]

  []Set the price from 0 to 1,000 crowns per refunded point; the default is 100.[/]

  []The tooltip shows the total cost. Without enough crowns, the reset is cancelled.[/]

There is no confirmation popup: pressing R immediately attempts the reset. For controllers you'll see the key on the skills tree page, at the bottom. It should be  View / Back / Select on Xbox and compatibles controllers ; touch pad on PlayStation controller.

You can now change the keybind in the mod settings.

Installation

For an easier installation/uninstallation I recommand using a mod manager like vortex or witcher3 mod manager.

Manual installation :

  []Copy the archive's mods and bin folders into your game root (the folder already containing bin, content and dlc).[/]

  []If you use other script mods, refresh Script Merger and rebuild affected merges. Resolve conflicts before launching if any.[/]

  []Start the game and check Options > Mods > Easy skill reset.[/]

On the targeted Remastered 5. 0 version, no file-list or input.settings edits are needed. Without other script mods there is nothing to merge.

Compatibility

This mod changes characterMenuDupe.ws, commonMenu.ws and PlayerAbilityManager.ws, and adds local/easySkillReset.ws. Other skill or menu mods may need Script Merger or manual conflict resolution.

Languages

All base game languages are supported.

Uninstallation

Close the game. Remove mods/modEasySkillReset, bin/config/base/modEasySkillReset.ini, and bin/config/r4game/user_config_matrix/pc/modEasySkillReset.xml. Refresh Script Merger and rebuild affected merges. Uninstallation does not reverse resets or payments already saved. See the included README for optional settings cleanup.

Credits

The Witcher 3 and base scripts: CD PROJEKT RED. Translation file tooling uses a codec adapted from 0x7A2C9E5D's Witcher3StringEditor (MIT).
