Cold Winter Skellige

I found vanilla look of the Skellige Isles to be way too warm, dim and dull to my tastes. These are the remote islands of harsh and hardened

Viking-like warriors - they are supposed to be cold, ragged and wintery!

This quite simple Reshade preset turns the colour palette of Skellige into more "Nordic winter" -like vision. It is built upon popular Wiedzmin Lighting Mod (version X1), so in order to achieve the exact same looks of the pictures, I recommend using that mod. It's not required, but without it the colours are probably a little different, depending on your settings.

Check out the comparison images with vanilla (Wiedzmin) lighting and with Winter Skellige Reshade enabled.

Installation:

1. Download the latest Reshade version.

2. Run the Reshade setup exe, select "witcher 3.exe" (bin/x64), click Direct3D10+ and download all the shaders.

3. Download my files from the files section (reshade-shaders folder and WinterSkellige.ini file).

4. Paste my files into x64 folder, where witcher3.exe is located, and overwrite if asked.

5. In game, press Shift+F2 to open reshade window, and choose WinterSkellige from the drag down-menu, or if you don't see it there, click in the"+" symbol and write "WinterSkellige" and press enter - that should choose my preset.

6. Important: Once you start playing, under the Settings tab switch "Configuration mode" into "Performance mode" to improve performance.

Enjoy the freezing winds of Skellige!

If you want to tinker with the Reshade settings yourself, feel completely free, but do realize that all of these filters have some purpose, and you might lose the intended vision.

Filters I have used to achieve the effects:

- AmbientLight (added slightly)

- Clarity (added slightly)

- Tint (Blueish colour)

- LiftGammaGain (small but important adjustments)

- (De)Vibrance (slight negative vibrance)

- Sepia (small adjustment)

- GaussianBlur (small power, this reduces aliasing. This can be deactivated

without losing the winter colour palette if you want a more crisp image)
