📋 About This Mod
A fuzzy time-of-day label under your region name. No clock, no numbers, just a quiet word.
A tiny client-side mod that tells you what time it is in Windrose without making you stare at the sky and guess.
Picture this. You are sailing the high seas, the wind has picked up, the rain is hammering the deck, and the sky is the kind of slate grey that could be early morning or late evening or actually maybe the storm just ate the sun entirely. You squint at the horizon. You squint at your sails. You wonder if it is bedtime yet.
Or maybe you are deep in the jungle, you have been mining ore for what feels like three real-world hours, your character is exhausted, and you have no clue whether sleeping right now is going to skip you to dawn or just put you into a slightly deeper afternoon nap.
Time of Day sticks a small fuzzy time label right under your region name on the HUD. No clock. No numbers. Just a quiet little word that tells you where you are in the day.
So instead of guessing, you see this:
That is the whole mod. It is the kind of small quality-of-life thing that you stop noticing after a day and then desperately miss if you ever turn it off.
The eleven labels
Windrose has its own day cycle and the mod reads it directly. Here are the labels you will see, with rough real-world hour approximations for orientation:
-
[]Dawn: 0600 to 0630[/]
[]Morning: 0630 to 0830[/]
[]Midday: 0830 to 1130[/]
[]Afternoon: 1130 to 1330[/]
[]Late Afternoon: 1330 to 1500[/]
[]Evening: 1500 to 1900 (sunset spans this)[/]
[]Dusk: 1900 to 2000[/]
[]Deep Night: 2000 to 2330[/]
[]Night: 2330 to 0245[/]
[]Before Dawn: 0245 to 0600[/]
The exact mapping depends on the game's own day length. Treat these as a vibe, not a clock.
At sea: the helm exception
Time of Day shows on land, on your ship's deck, and anywhere else you happen to be standing. There is one place it intentionally hides: while you are at the wheel.
The ship HUD refreshes its area display about once a second while you are steering, and fighting it produced visible flicker. So Time of Day takes a polite step back when you grab the wheel. Don't want to be caught looking at your pocket watch while sailing, right?
When you release the wheel, the label returns within about 3 to 4 seconds. Stepping away from the helm for a quick weather check, then back to steering, is the intended workflow.
Things to know
-
[]Pure client-side mod. Hosts and servers do not need to install it. If you play on a dedicated server, only your local client needs the files.[/]
[]Single player, local multiplayer, and dedicated server all supported from the client side.[/]
[]No HUD repositioning. The label appears under the existing region name where the game already shows "Coastal Jungle". When the game changes regions, the label updates and the time line follows.[/]
[]Brief flicker on UI events. Opening the map, opening your backpack, fast traveling, or toggling a tracked quest may cause the time line to disappear for up to half a second while the HUD redraws. It comes right back.[/]
Requirements
UE4SS installed in your Windrose game folder. The official loader is at github.com/UE4SS-RE/RE-UE4SS/releases. Make sure your UE4SS-settings.ini has MajorVersion = 5 and MinorVersion = 6 under , or this mod (and most other UE4SS mods) will not run.
