Expanded Pickup Radius

Description

When you chop a tree or kill a mob, loot can scatter well outside the game's auto-pickup range. This mod automatically pulls nearby ground loot toward you so the game's pickup animation collects it — no more chasing drops across the map or manually walking into each item.

The pull radius is approximately 10 meters, which covers a full tree's worth of scattered logs without accidentally hoovering up drops from the next node over. The mod starts automatically when you spawn in and runs silently in the background.

Works in both singleplayer and multiplayer. For the best multiplayer experience, install the mod server-side via UE4SS — it will then handle all players simultaneously, pulling each loot item toward the nearest player. If a server-side install isn't possible (some hosting providers block it), the mod still works fully in singleplayer.

If your inventory is full when loot is pulled in, the item stops following within a second and stays on the ground. It will be picked up automatically if you return with space.

Requirements

UE4SS — free, one-time install. Also required by most other Windrose mods, so if you've modded before you likely already have it.

Multiplayer & Dedicated Servers

Server-side install is supported and recommended for multiplayer. The setup is identical to the singleplayer install — place dwmapi.dll and the ue4ss\ folder in your server's Win64 directory using the same paths as Step 1, then install the mod as in Step 2.

Only loot that drops after the mod loads will be pulled — existing world items are ignored, so you won't accidentally hoover up loot left by other players as you run past.

Note for hosted servers: Some hosting providers (including G-Portal) may prevent dwmapi.dll from loading, which will stop the server from starting. If that happens, remove the file and submit a support ticket to your host asking about UE4SS compatibility. PAK-based mods are unaffected by this.

Installation

Step 1 — Install UE4SS (skip if you already have it)

1. Download UE4SS from GitHub. Scroll down to the Assets section and download the file named something like UE4SS_v3. 0. 1-416-g4a88719.zip — the numbers may vary as it updates frequently.

2. Extract the zip and drop the contents into your game's Win64 folder:

3. Navigate to \Windrose\R5\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\ and open UE4SS-settings.ini in Notepad. Find these lines:

MinorVersion =Change them to:

MinorVersion = 6Save the file.

Step 2 — Install the mod

4. Download this mod and extract the zip. Drop the PickupRadius folder into:

5. Launch the game. The mod starts automatically 3 seconds after you spawn in.

Troubleshooting

First, verify UE4SS is running.

Navigate to \Windrose\R5\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\ and look for a file named UE4SS.log. If this file doesn't exist after you've launched the game, UE4SS was not installed correctly — go back to Step 1.

If the file exists, open it in Notepad. If the mod is installed correctly and loading, you should see a line like this near the top:

Mod loaded. Radius=1000. 0 | 'pickupradius' to start, 'pickupradiusoff' to stop.

If you don't see that line, the mod folder is probably in the wrong location — double-check Step 2.
