HammyTheBoar ReShade preset pack transforms Wartales into a richer, more immersive visual experience. With four distinct presets, each carefully crafted. From vivid, colorful landscapes that bring the world to life, to realistic tones that maintain natural lighting and depth, to intense dark contrasts for a dramatic, cinematic edge, each preset has been designed with both exploration and combat in mind, enhancing clarity and detail without compromising the game’s original charm.

Themes

1. Vibrant

Bursting with color and life, the Vibrant preset makes every landscape pop. Rich, saturated visuals, it brings energy to forests, fields, and villages alike. Colors feel alive, and the game world is more inviting.

2. Realistic

The Realistic preset strikes a perfect balance, enhancing natural tones without exaggeration. Shadows, lighting, and textures are subtly refined, offering clarity and depth while preserving the game’s authentic medieval aesthetic.

The Cold preset emphasizes crisp contrast with cooler, bluish tones, giving Wartales a sharp, icy feel.

4. Brutal Black

The Brutal Black preset bathes the world in deep shadows and stark monochrome tones, creating a dark, almost black-and-white atmosphere. This is suitable for someone seeking a grim, oppressive aesthetic, it turns every battlefield and landscape into a haunting, intense environment where light and shadow shape the drama.

Technical Details & Motivation

HammyTheBoar ReShade Pack enhances Wartales with a carefully curated set of 12 filters, each selected to improve clarity, lighting, color, and atmosphere across all four presets. It’s important to note that this ReShade is not a fix for poor visuals, the base game already looks fantastic. Instead, this pack is designed as an upgrade to the game’s atmosphere, adding subtle enhancements that bring out the world’s depth and mood even further.

One of the biggest challenges in creating this ReShade was balancing lighting between interiors and exteriors. Caves, buildings, and enclosed spaces often have lighting that can feel flat or inconsistent compared to outdoor environments.

The pack uses the following filters:

[]ColorMatrix  - Adjusts color balance and tone across the entire screen.

[]Curves  - Fine-tunes brightness and contrast using precise curve adjustments.

[]DPX  - Adds a film-like cinematic feel with tonal mapping. It softens harsh lighting while maintaining detail, giving a more natural, hand-crafted look to the world.

[]FXAA  - A fast anti-aliasing method that smooths jagged edges in the game.

[]HDR  - Expands the range of light and dark tones.

[]LumaSharpen  - Enhances edge clarity and texture detail. It makes terrain, weapons, and UI elements crisp, improving readability and visual impact.
