Noobline

Noobline is an ultra-lightweight, performance-focused enemy outline mod designed for players on lower-end systems and anyone who only needs clear enemy outlines.

It automatically adds outlines to nearby Monsters, Specials, and Elites. Horde and Roamer outlines are optional and disabled by default to reduce visual clutter and CPU workload.

Its minimal feature set, interval-based scanning, per-category addition limits, tag-based enemy lookups, squared-distance checks, and performance-oriented caching are designed to keep additional CPU workload as low as reasonably possible during large fights.

Actual performance will still depend on your hardware, game settings, and other installed mods.

Target and range behavior

Noobline periodically scans nearby enemies and adds outlines according to their category and configured detection range.

Each category has its own detection range, which is 15 metres by default.

Settings and performance tuning

Separate RGB colors can be configured for Monsters, Specials, Elites, and Horde/Roamers.

Common horde and roamer outlines can be enabled through the mod settings.

Optional advanced settings are hidden by default and allow you to customize the detection range and outlines added per scan for each enemy category, together with the global Scan Interval.

These settings control the balance between responsiveness and CPU workload. Higher Outlines per Scan values make new outlines appear sooner but can increase CPU workload. Lower Scan Interval values scan nearby enemies more frequently and make outlines appear sooner, while higher values reduce processing frequency but may delay new outlines. The default values are recommended for most players.

Example tuning profiles

Performance-focused: Keep Horde and Roamer outlines disabled. Increasing Scan Interval to 1 second reduces scanning frequency, but new outlines may appear with more delay.

Responsiveness-focused: Try setting Scan Interval to 0. 25 seconds for faster outline detection. If your system has sufficient performance headroom, you can try 0. 1 seconds. Lower values increase CPU workload, especially when Horde and Roamer outlines are enabled.

Change one setting at a time so you can find the best balance for your system. If you are unsure, keep the default values.

Important compatibility notice

Do not install Noobline together with another enemy outline mod.

Running multiple enemy outline mods may create overlapping outlines, additional processing, or conflicting colors. Remove or disable other enemy outline mods before using Noobline.
