This is an unofficial patch for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

by Troika Games. It's a cumulative patch containing all the previous

releases and works with retail and downloadable versions of any kind

as the Troika Games official patch 1. 2 is included. It runs out of a

subfolder so other mods can be run in parallel but applying it to an

international version will revert all localizations back to English!

The default Basic Patch fixes bugs mostly and restores only a bit of

content to be close to the original. The Plus Patch (+) adds various

tweaks and lots of content. The Patch Extras include a SDK and more!

To install the patch choose the Bloodlines directory as destination,

select options and then start the game from the shortcuts it adds to

both desktop and start menu. Thanks to Jordan Russel for Inno Setup.

It's important to begin a new game after patching, so old saves will

be moved to save/incompatible. To remove the patch, delete shortcuts

and patch folder. To update to a new version just install it on top!

If you want a vanilla experience without any changes except for ones

needed to make the game run on modern systems, use the loader in the

main folder and select "Vampire" or start the game from Vampire.exe!

On issues in Windows install the patch as administrator or use it in

XP compatibility mode. On problems with Steam run Steam and the game

as administrator and copy steam.dll to the game folder, if you get a

"failed to find Steam" error. To start it from the Steam library add

-game Unofficial_Patch to launch options. Disable auto-updating both

in Steam and GOG Galaxy. If it doesn't work in Linux use Loader.exe!

All new levels were edited and compiled with the Unofficial SDK from

Psycho-A and Fire64 and then finished and filled with life by Wesp5.

Special thanks also to the people who modified the dlls of the game,

to Jor and Wabbite who fixed the 2 GB memory bug in shaderapidx9.dll

and Frank7777 who added the refresh-rate fix. To in9 who fixed stats

in client.dll, SomeCommentDoe, Drog Black Tooth and c6 who corrected

lights-through-wall, LOD and save speed in engine.dll, and Behar and

Psycho-A who added -game modname support and created the Loader.exe!

The patch is provided "as is" and any warranties are disclaimed. The

free redistribution of the unchanged patch is permitted but it's not

allowed to use it as a base for derivative works without permission!
