📋 About This Mod
True perma-death for Valheim. Die once, and that world and character are locked out and permanently removed no second chances, no rollback, no editing the save to undo it.
Description
Turns a chosen world/character into a genuine permanent-death run. The moment you die, that
world and character are locked out of normal play and eventually deleted outright.
There's no way to undo it short of restoring a full, unmodified
backup you took before the death, and even that has limits (see Known Limitations).
Two modes: Single-player (default) doesn't touch networking or server authority at all. Multi-player (opt-in, for dedicated server admins) instead kicks and permanently bans a player once they cross a death threshold you configure, live-tested against a real Valheim Dedicated Server. See the optional file "MultiplayerSetup" download on the Files tab for the full setup guide.
Installation instructions

[]Install BepInEx for Valheim if you haven't already.[/]
[]Extract this zip directly into your Valheim install folder — it's laid out to drop straight
into `BepInEx/plugins/TrueHardcoreMode/`.[/]
[]Launch the game and confirm it loaded: check `BepInEx/LogOutput.log` for `True Hardcore Mode loaded`.[/]
[]In-game, create or select a world and set its Death Penalty to Hardcore (via the "Hardcore"
world preset, or the individual slider under World Modifiers). The run starts tracking
automatically the next time that world loads.[/]
Main features
[] Automatic: Starts tracking the moment you select Valheim's own "Hardcore" death penalty
(world preset or the individual slider) for a world. No console commands, no menu buttons.[/]
[]Real deletion, not a soft lock: On death, the world and character are quarantined
immediately and, after an optional grace period, permanently deleted from disk. The grace period exists purely so you can recover from a mistake (e.g. this mod misfiring) not so you can undo a legitimate death. [/]
[]Tamper/rollback detection: Catches save-swapping, hand-edited run records, and reloading an older save of the same world/character while the mod is running. (Not bulletproof see Known Limitations for exactly what it can't catch.)[/]
[]Steam Cloud aware: Cloud-sourced worlds/characters are converted and quarantined correctly,
not silently skipped.[/]
[]Optional immersion settings: (purely cosmetic, safe to toggle anytime, no effect on
enforcement): hide your health bar entirely, or add a low-health tension effect narrowing
FOV, a darkening red vignette, and fading HUD elements as your HP drops. Both have native
toggles right on Valheim's own Settings → Gameplay screen.[/]
[*]Main-menu lockout: "Modify wo
