📋 About This Mod

Overhauls many things in Valheim adding such things as multiple enemy variants, new weapon functions, anti-cheat in multiplayer and new build functions.

Description

Ilves15's Valheim Overhaul is a server-side Valheim plugin that completely overhauls gameplay without requiring any client-side installation. It runs entirely on the server, meaning every mechanic, restriction, and event is enforced globally for all players automatically.

The core idea is to turn Valheim into a much harsher, unpredictable survival experience where the world itself feels hostile and reactive. One of the biggest components is a strict anti-cheat system. The plugin actively detects things like debug flying, illegal weapons such as cheat sledges or swords, unnatural movement velocity, and abnormal health values. If any of these are detected, the player is immediately flagged, warned, and kicked from the server.

The mod also introduces a deep enemy evolution system. Nearly every creature in the game can spawn as multiple variants with different strengths and behaviors. For example, greydwarves, skeletons, boars, wolves, and fulings can appear as weaker forms or escalate into dangerous elite or “legendary” versions. This makes exploration far less predictable, since even early-game enemies can occasionally become serious threats.

Death is no longer just a penalty but a gameplay mechanic. When creatures or players die, they often trigger additional effects such as spawning ghosts, explosions, lightning strikes, or healing zones. This means that fights can spiral out of control, especially in groups, because killing enemies may create new dangers instead of ending them.

Combat itself is heavily modified. Projectiles are transformed into large-scale effects. Arrows and attacks can trigger lightning storms, fireball bursts, poison shockwaves, or ground slams. This makes combat much more chaotic and dangerous, especially at range, and encourages more careful positioning and awareness.

The world is also filled with traps and unexpected events. Chests can turn into ambushes, spawning enemies like wraiths. Trees and logs can spawn hostile creatures such as roots. Destroying structures or interacting with certain objects can trigger area effects, enemy spawns, or environmental hazards. Even crafting stations and defensive structures can backfire when destroyed.

Bosses and major enemies are enhanced with chances to spawn stronger versions or trigger large-scale effects upon death. Some events can even spawn additional bosses or environmental chaos, making victories feel intense and risky rather than safe.
