Better Stamina Revived

Description

A configurable stamina mod, rebuilt for the current version of Valheim. It speeds up stamina regen, removes stamina drain while encumbered, makes building tools free, and lowers the stamina cost of actions as the matching skill grows. Every value is set in a config file.

This is an updated rebuild of Better Stamina by bakaSpaceman, whose original had stopped working after the game updates. All credit for the original mod goes to them. Original page: nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/153

Installation instructions

• []Install BepInEx for Valheim.[/]

  []Drop BetterStamina.dll into Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/.[/]

  []Launch the game once. A config file is created automatically.[/]

To uninstall, delete the DLL.

  Configuration

  Settings live in Valheim/BepInEx/config/com.bouns.betterstamina.cfg (created on first launch).

  • []General: StaminaRegenRateMod (default 1. 5), StaminaRegenRateModWithWeapons (1. 4), StaminaRegenDelay (1), RemoveEncumberedStaminaDrain (true).[/]

    []Tools: RemoveHammerStaminaCost, RemoveHoeStaminaCost, RemoveCultivatorStaminaCost (all true). Free only while in build mode, so running or jumping with the tool still costs stamina.[/]

    []Skills: SkillCurve (Linear, EaseOut or EaseInExpo, default EaseOut). Per action cost at max skill as a fraction of default: RunCostAtMaxSkill (0. 4), RunWithWeaponsCostAtMaxSkill (0. 5), DodgeCostAtMaxSkill (0. 67), JumpCostAtMaxSkill (0. 67), BlockCostAtMaxSkill (0. 67), SneakCostAtMaxSkill (0. 67), WeaponAttackCostAtMaxSkill (0. 67), HoldBowCostAtMaxSkill (0. 67). Swim cost in units: SwimCostAtMinSkill (6), SwimCostAtMaxSkill (3).[/]

    []Status Effects: ColdStaminaRegenModifier (0. 75), WetStaminaRegenModifier (0. 85), RestedStaminaRegenModifier (1. 5), RestedDurationIncreasePerComfortLevel (60).[/]

  The EaseOut curve lowers the cost quickly at low and mid skill, then tapers toward the floor near max skill. Dodge uses a flat multiplier because dodging has no skill to level.

  Multiplayer and dedicated servers

  Install it on your own client only. Stamina is handled on each player's own game, so every player who wants it installs it on their client. A dedicated server does not need it.
