The famous Type VII C was the workhorse of the German U-boat force, it was commissioned from 1940 to 1945 during WW2. The Type VII C was an effective fighting machine and was seen almost everywhere U-boats operated. The range was big enough to drive across the atlantic ocean. Maximum operating depth was 250m (820ft) but calculated crush depth was about 300m (970ft). Typical armament was one 8. 8 cm deck gun, two 2 cm AA Flak cannons, 14 torpedoes and 26 mines.
