Nerfed Specializations

My quest to nerf skills continues!

Pretty straightforward intent: halves the skill benefits from choosing Specializations during character creation.

Choose between either:

• []2 Specialization Points

  []5 Skill Points Each

• []10 Skill Points Each

  The Specialization mechanic in The Outer Worlds is a good idea, however I don't think its execution is all that great.

  50 is arguably too high of a threshold to start specializing into specific skills. It's great for new players in the first area (i.e. Emerald Vale) to get a sense of where and how difficult skill checks will manifest in the game, and to enjoy making those checks.

  But for people who are doing a second playthrough onwards, it's far too easy to breeze through most skill checks in the early game without using mods. There's a confluence of factors that make skill checks in this game somewhat meaningless, and the Specialization system was one of those contributing factors.
