📋 About This Mod

Shop Overhaul

Real scarcity for your rarest wholesale stock.

What Is It?

In vanilla, the wholesaler will sell you as many booster packs and boxes as your wallet can handle. Shop Overhaul lets you put a leash on that. It's a foundation mod that hooks into the wholesale stock system so specific items can be made genuinely scarce - perfect for super-rare sets that shouldn't be buyable by the truckload.

Mod authors use it to dial in rarity for their expansions, and players feel the difference: chase products trickle in instead of flooding the market.

What You'll Notice

  • []Limited wholesale stock - Marked items no longer have unlimited supply at the wholesaler. Each one gets a small daily allocation instead.[/]

[]Stock that builds up over time - The available amount ticks up a little each in-game day. Skip a few days and it banks up; buy a batch and you'll have to wait for it to recover.[/]

[]A live count in the menu - The wholesale screen shows exactly how much of a limited item is available right now, and greys it out once you've cleaned out the day's supply.[/]

[]Scarcity where it matters - Authors choose exactly which products are limited and how fast they refill, so only the genuinely rare stuff is gated.[/]

    For Mod Authors

Adding scarcity to your own expansion is just dropping a text file in - no code, no DLL work.

    1. Make a folder

Inside the Shop Overhaul plugin folder, create a subfolder with any unique name. You can nest as many subfolders as you like to keep things organised by set.

    2. Add a text file

Inside your subfolder, make a .txt file with any unique name. Each line defines one limited item:

    Item Name, PackSizeFilter, DailyAllocation

    • []Item Name - Must match the item's in-game name exactly.[/]

[]Pack Size Filter - Targets a specific wholesale variant (e.g. a 32-pack vs a 64-pack box). Use 0 to apply to all variants.[/]

[]Daily Allocation - How much stock the item gains each in-game day. Defaults to 1 if left off.[/]

Lines starting with # or // are treated as comments. Trailing commas are fine.

    Worked example

    Shop Overhaul\PTCGO\01 - Base Set\Base Set Expansions.txt

1st Edition Base Set Booster Packs, 0, 3

1st Edition Base Set Booster Box, 0, 3That makes 1st Edition Base Set packs and bo

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Shop Overhaul is a foundation mod that introduces real scarcity to wholesale stock in the game, allowing mod authors to limit specific items to daily allocations instead of unlimited supply. It adds a live count in the menu and stock that builds up over time, with configuration via simple text files.

✨ Key Features

Limits marked wholesale items to a small daily allocation instead of unlimited supply.
Stock builds up over time, banking up if you skip days and requiring waiting after a purchase.
Wholesale screen shows a live count of available limited items and greys them out when depleted.
Mod authors can configure scarcity by dropping text files with item name, pack size filter, and daily allocation.
Supports nested subfolders for organizing limited items by set.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Solid foundation mod with 138 endorsements and 38k downloads, so it's got a real user base.
  • The daily allocation system actually makes rare items feel rare, which is a nice change from vanilla's infinite stock.
  • Author-friendly setup: just drop a text file in a folder, no coding or DLLs needed.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only affects items that mod authors specifically mark, so vanilla players won't see any changes unless they use compatible expansions.
  • The description cuts off mid-sentence, so the full config syntax isn't fully explained here.
  • As a foundation mod, it's useless on its own—you need other mods that actually use it to feel the effect.
🎯 Is This For You?
For mod authors who want to add scarcity to their own expansions and for players who use mods that integrate Shop Overhaul. If you're just playing vanilla, skip it—you won't notice anything unless you install compatible content mods.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • If you're a mod author, make sure item names match exactly, including capitalization, or the scarcity won't apply.
  • Test your text file with a single item first to see how the daily allocation feels before rolling it out to your whole set.
  • Nest subfolders by set to keep your configs organized, especially if you have multiple expansions.
