The Deep Dark - Realistic HDR and Water Blur Shader - (Lightweight)

THE DEEP DARK

This is a lightweight (minimal fps drop) shader preset to make Subnautica and Below Zero more realistic.

Designed to make a playthrough more challenging as the big nasty creatures can now see you long before you can see them!

An added water-blurring effect makes the ocean much tougher to navigate as visibility is cut in half, this also affects land so navigating the Below Zero ice sheet in fog or a blizzard is now treacherous, and already dark and murky waters are now terrifying as you can only see just a few meters in front of you.

With HDR to make the deep caves and night diving perilous, your flashlight is your new best friend.

But this has not been designed only for pretty screenshots, it has been tweaked over dozens of hours of gameplay to make sure it is perfectly usable for a normal playthrough, it will just make your playthrough tougher and a lot more immersive. It is lightweight and should not reduce your framerate by much at all, on my system it was only around a <10% drop.

How to install:

• []Download The Deep Dark shader preset from Nexus, click "Manual Download" and extract the zip file

  []Now download the latest version of ReShade (ReShade is the modern and more powerful successor to SweetFX)

  []Once downloaded, click the "ReShade.exe" and select "Subnautica" or "Below Zero" from your game list

  []Click "Next" and then select "DirectX 10,11,12"

  []On the Select Effects screen, click "Browse" and select The Deep Dark preset from your downloads folder

  []ReShade will now select the correct effects to install

  []Click "Next" and you're done, ReShade is installed

• []Press "Home" to open the ReShade menu

  []Press "End" to toggle the ReShade preset effects

    Important Notes:

    []HDR - This preset was designed for a Good HDR monitor - if your monitor is not HDR or only has very basic HDR implementation such as HDR-400 or 600, then this shader may look too dark to use.
