Lost River Survival Challenge

Start your game 855 meters deep in the lost river.

You were teleported deep within the planet by a team of advanced alien scientists. However, you lost radio contact (for some reason) soon after. All that’s left is a safety lifepod on the surface and a minimal complement of equipment. You were just attacked by a River Prowler which blasted your habitat builder right out of your hands. It was consumed by the acid brine.

Lost and alone, deep beneath the surface of a strange planet, you’ll have to use all your strength and guile just to survive. What resources do you need, and where will you find them? In which direction should you try to escape?

You do not need any mods to run this, but you can use whatever you want. There are a few mod-added objects – just ignore them. The degree of difficulty is fairly high, but not impossible. I managed to succeed using just the vanilla game, which was pretty annoying, but I did it.

Check your blueprints: some important items are already unlocked. You’ll be able to build several types of powerplants, if you manage to find all the raw materials. A few things are provided, some of which do not normally exist below the surface.

Assuming you get out, you can jump right into the main quest. The Aurora has been blown and there is plenty of radiation. Remember, the rescue ship is coming in only 9999999 months or so.

“Installation”

Copy this file to your saved games folder. You must find where that is on your machine. Do a search for folders with names like “Slot0001”. (You may have to turn off cloud saves.) The game is called Lost River-Central and was saved 1-19-22 at 3:22, in case the name does not show up for you.

If anyone gets stuck, I can post tips to give you a fighting chance.
