📋 About This Mod
For 4.3–4.4 ✅ Description Like my other version of this mod, the core idea is that empire sprawl should reflect how many people and how much infrastructure you have, not how many planets you've colonized. This mod shifts most empire size contribution from planets to districts while staying as close to vanilla empire size as possible. Source Vanilla empire size This mod's empire size Districts 0.4 1.33 Colonies 20 5 What This Means in Practice A brand new colony adds +6 empire size instead of the vanilla +21, but a fully maxed size-16 colony adds +26, just like in vanilla. This shift compresses the gap between small and large worlds. Since I balanced it around size 16 worlds, this means smaller colonies are proportionally more forgiving than before while larger ones add proportionally more empire size than vanilla. There's not anything I can do about that without increasing the flat cost from colonies, defeating the purpose of this mod. World Size Vanilla empire size with max districts This mod's empire size with max districts Small (avg 9.5) 23.8 (2.5/district) 17.63 (1.85/district) Medium (avg 16) 26.4 (1.65/district) 26.28 (1.65/district) Large (avg 21) 28.4 (1.35/district) 32.93 (1.57/district) Huge (avg 27) 30.4 (1.12/district) 40.91 (1.51/district) Balance Notes I kept colonies at +5 rather than 0 because I think larger planets should still have some inherent value, otherwise the only choice between colonizing three size 9s and a size 27 is colony ship cost and more infrastructure building. This way bigger worlds are still meaningfully better, just not to vanilla's extreme degree. I didn't rebalance anything that modifies empire size via planets or districts, so be aware that anything reducing planet-based empire size is now less valuable, and anything reducing district-based empire size is more valuable. A couple people have asked me about rebalancing Imperial Prerogative for this. I suggest using Better Perks, as I use that for rebalancing perks and don't wan
