True Eyes Unlocked

Ever since the launch of starfield, i always loved making custom eye colors to make my character more unique.

However, what made it difficult to fully embrace the custom eyes were the dominant sclera.

You see, the eye material files uses 2 main textures, the iris and the sclera. What is interesting however, is that the iris already have

a sclera inbuilt into the texture (sharing the same UV mapping too). Thats all well and good but the problem then shows itself that even if you give the sclera a transparent texture,

the eyeball becomes pitchblack, like ink. Once again, Deveris from the Starfield Geometry Bridge discord server helped out by giving me some

pointers on where to look.

Turns out there was a setting that adjusts the ratio between the iris and the sclera. Setting it to max, makes the iris dominant and thus,

the eyeballs are now fully unlocked and now, you can make your eyes however you want.

Since this is a replacer, you simply need to extract all the files into data and the game will do the rest.

Q: Why make this?

A: Simple, making cutom eyes are fun, but the sclera was being an ass so, went and fixed that. Plus, i know plenty of eye mods out there that need this.

Q: Does this affect bloodshot and jaundice eyes?

A: No, they are seperate and are unaffected, so if you wish to have that or want to give npcs that, they are still there.

Q: Is the eyes compadible with glowing eyes mod by zone79?

A: Yes they are, suprised even me honestly. Simply install my mod and then use the glowing eyes mod as usual and you are good to go.

Q: Does the mod come with the dunmer eyes?

A: No, as those eyes were made using modified eye textures from another modder, tho who that was i dont even remember.

Q: Does the mod work for both male and female characters?

A: Absolutly. The mod was made for both and you be having a good time making new custom eyes.

Q: Why the material file placed differently in the materials folder? And why use Nif files for the eyes?

A: To solve 2 things. The game crashes if i try to replace the material files directly. Im using the nif files to direct the default

eyes to the new materials. And, if you decdie to uninstall the eyes, all you need to do is to delete the nif files and the game will use the default

materials again.
