📋 About This Mod
Yet another little tweak I've been using lately.
If this is some late game ability I don't know about, my bad. Despite all my time in this game, I'm actually very early in the story still.
I was just personally gobsmacked that there was no option to slow down time to sort out power management, something like Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. Well, now there is.
Feel free to tune the value to your liking.
The commands:
Enables the changes:
SetGS bSpaceshipPowerAllocSlowsTime 1
Slowdown period length when power is interacted with:
SetGS fSpaceshipPowerAllocTimeSlowDuration 0. 65
Removes a currently active image space modifier, the one in question being the blur that occurs during slowmo:
rimod 002EDE71
How to use blurred-screen fix:
If you are affected by this issue, please open the console and type "bat SlowmoPowerAlloc" (or whatever your .txt file is named) after loading your save, and the screen will be cleared. To avoid the issue in the future, don't save / quit the game from the pilot seat with this tweak in place.
Installation is the same as ever.
Commands in copyable format (Put them in your launch command .txt file, if you already have one):
SetGS bSpaceshipPowerAllocSlowsTime 1
SetGS fSpaceshipPowerAllocTimeSlowDuration 0. 65
rimod 002EDE71
Installation:
Put the .txt ("SlowmoPowerAlloc.txt") file in your game directory (steamapps/common/Starfield).
sStartingConsoleCommand=bat SlowmoPowerAlloc
To your StarfieldCustom.ini (Documents\My Games\Starfield)
If you already have another .txt file launching with "sStartingConsoleCommand=bat" From your StarfieldCustom.ini, simply add the lines from "SlowmoPowerAlloc.txt" to your existing .txt file.

Thanks so much for each and every endorsement, I know how much effort that is for a little commandline tweak!

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 921 endorsements and over 18k downloads
- Solves a real pain point for pilots juggling flight and power management
- Simple concept that makes a big difference in combat and docking situations
⚠️ Cons
- May trivialize power management for players who enjoy the challenge of real-time adjustments
- Could conflict with other mods that alter ship power UI or time scale
- No explicit mention of compatibility with Starfield's latest updates or other popular ship mods
For Starfield pilots who find power management stressful during dogfights or while docking. If you want a more relaxed flight experience without losing the strategic element, this is for you. Skip if you prefer the vanilla challenge or if you use mods that overhaul ship systems.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're on PC, make sure to place the mod in your Data folder or use a mod manager like Vortex for easy installation.
- Test the slow-motion effect in a safe area first to get a feel for the timing before jumping into combat.
- Remember that holding the increase/decrease button now fully drains or powers a subsystem—use this to quickly redistribute power in emergencies.
