📋 About This Mod
About this mod:
Minor improvements for the Highlight Closest Path feature of the Handscanner.
No Time Out:
In the vanilla game, the highlight may go away after ~10 seconds even if the scanner is still open. The mod keeps the highlight on until the scanner is exited instead (unless Aim Vector Restricted is turned on, see below).
Support Partial Path Highlighting:
In the vanilla game, the highlight is only available if the game can calculate the full path to the active target quest objective. If it can't, "No Direct Path Seen." notification is shown. The mod makes the highlight show the partial path too to keep the it handy even if no direct path seen (this mostly eliminates the error notification). (Partial = path from the player to the obstacle that causes the breakpoint). Partial Highlighting is useful especially in interiors.
Path is blocked by the rocks
Aim Vector Restricted: optional setting
Optional .ini setting (bAimVectorRestricted in Starfield/Data/SFSE/Plugins/ScannerPathImprovements.ini) that makes the highlight available only when the player points ("aim vector") at the active target quest objective (which is the endpoint of the path actually).
Requirements:
Starfield Script Extender
Install/Uninstall:
Install: either with your mod manager or extract the archive in {... Steam installation folder}\Starfield\Data, just like any SFSE plugins.
Uninstall: either with mod manager or simply remove the extracted plugin file. It doesn't make any permanent changes to your game or save files and can be uninstalled anytime.
