📋 About This Mod
Enjoy...remastered 2500 textures for Facegen MAJOR NPC ( NPCs who can talk to you or fight.... Not that Crowd NPC with their Starefield eyes ) because the original still lacks detail....at least for me. The Facegen system now uses 4 textures, namely Diffuse (Color), Rough, Normal, and AO.
Imagine if everything was 4K.... So bad for this game. But 2K resolution with beautiful extra details and no blur is enough for our games. After all it's all about Adjustment.
I've tried all the combinations and I decided to upload my Diffuse and Rough maps because they have the biggest impact for quality. For normal and AO maps, Vanilla very good for NPCs.
Rough Maps are very important because with good quality map, NPC facial expressions can give more natural realism, especially when talking. You will see for yourself. The rough map is no longer blurry and the details are tighter.
All Diffuse and Rough map now in 2K improved and very optimized format ( Just like default starfield format ). Even though I have actually enhanced the entire textures including all Ao and Normal maps, it's not necessary at this time. Better later if this game has received the correct fixes and optimizations.
Playing normally with just the default textures, the game engine almost running out O2....even worse if you add 20-30 GB unzipped complete 4 textures for NPC. I won't use it too for my gameplay. Too much.
It feels very tiring but satisfying. Done step by step since playing Starfield and after extracting the textures.
Installation:
Extract the contents of the zip ( Data folder ) to
Documents\My Games\Starfield
This file is still loose because I haven't found an efficient way to Pack it. Ideally, it should be combined directly into the game's main Textures in BA2 (as replacer) but from what I have read, the compression is still not perfect and can sometimes cause stutter.
At this time it is better to use it first as loose files while we wait for the CK and tools. If you already know how to compress it well without problems, you can do it for your own game and write on post comment for tips.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 1,928 endorsements and 67k downloads — clearly does something right.
- Optimized means you get better-looking NPCs without tanking your FPS.
- Fixes the immersion-breaking issue where tables look sharper than people.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in September 2023 — might not be fully compatible with the latest Skyrim patches.
- Only covers NPC textures, so you'll still need other mods for armor, weapons, and environments.
- No detailed changelog or compatibility notes provided by the author.
For Skyrim players who want their NPCs to look as good as the world around them, especially if you're tired of blurry faces next to crisp tables. If you're a performance-conscious modder, this optimized version is a safe bet. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes — this is purely cosmetic.
