Power Shards

Power Shards:

Power Shards are designed to allow you to modularly give Starborn Powers to a NPC or Companion.  I've made these somewhat lore friendly in aquisiton.

Installation instructions:

Should install like normal with MO2 or Vortex, I tested install with MO2.

If you manually install, drop the contents of the ZIP file into your Starfield /Data folder.

There is one BA2 file that comes with this that includes the custom script and the custom visual modifications.

Main features:

Imbue your companions with Starborn Powers by crafting a misc. item at the Industrial Workbench. There are two versions: One item with Visual FX (VFXS) and one without. They do the same thing: give your companions AI Starborn Powers, but one adds an additional visual effect. (if you're into that).

How it works:

The ”Shard” runs a small script to see if you or the npc already have the Starborn Power. I do this so that the item doesn't give YOU the player, the AI Starborn power.

If the script determines that the NPC does not have the perk/power, then the item grants the NPC that AI Power. When the item is removed from the NPC inventory, the ability/perk is stripped away.

Essentially, you can give your companion every AI Starborn Power in the game (IE, every power the NPC Starborn are capable of using).

Ok, Great - how do I get these?

Cheat way:

will bring up this list of all 'shards'

after you get the ID of the item

player.additem ######### X

###### = ID

X = amount you want.

'Lore' Friendly Way:

How this now works:

As you progress through the game, you will eventually come across a book called "Ancient Starborn Journal". When you read the book, you will be given a hidden perk that allows you to craft the "Essence Elixir" (Pharmacy/Chem Station).

Drink the Essence Elixir. Your character will briefly appear drunk, your maximum health will be reduced by 20% (for 1 hour), research costs will be reduced by 50% (5min), and you will be able to craft Essence Cores and/or Power Shards for 5 minutes.

Essence Cores are the primary ingredient used in crafting the shards for your companions.

I haven't run into any bugs yet, but if you do you can post on them and in my spare time I will take a look.
