This update makes general improvements and adds new content, including several features requested by players. Note: Nothing has been removed, HOWEVER, the build menu has been rearranged. Items that may no longer be necessary are now in a row at the very bottom of the tab.

Version 1. 2 - 9 Feb 2026

This version of B&U delivers a livelier outpost experience. My goal with v1. 2 was to make immersive usable objects and beyond that, to create ways for outposts to feel like a functioning base by adding items for crew. Some of these additions are available for ship decorating as well, offering that same ambience for transport and mobile living spaces.

Would an update be complete without more plants? That's rhetorical, because of course not—a suite of vibrant, xeno-transplanted flora is now available in the the outpost landscaping lineup, with integrated lore-friendly stabilizing biotechnology.

The custom build menu tab has been reorganized to accommodate the new content; nothing was removed.

Under the hood, I’ve smoothed out some technical quirks to improve function and stability and removed redundant data. Please see the changelog and updated description for full details, including quirks and known conflicts.

My future plans for Botanics & Utilities include optimizing the legacy custom greenhouses for stability and efficiency, expanding the crew items, and adding a Ship Botanics collection. Thank you for all the support and I hope you enjoy the new additions! 🌿🚀💛

A custom build menu tab organizes structures, decor, and utilities for outposts together in one section, arranged by category. Workshop recipes are designed for frictionless building, with no perk or skill requirements. Certain items are available in ships as well.
