📋 About This Mod
This mod adds the Halo Shotgun from Halo which is standalone and craftable on the Industrial Workbench and you can modify the weapon using the Weapon Workbench. I used fauntane's assets from the shotgun replacer mod to make the shotgun standalone while co existing with the old earth pump action shotgun. I included Spartan747's M90 shotgun sounds from his pump action shotgun sound replacer to make the shotgun sound like the Halo shotgun. The shotgun model's made by Glitch5970 from their Sketchfab content. Also made a standalone weapon ammo type which is the 8 Gauge shotgun shell, AKA the Soellkraft Hippo 8-gauge magnum shell. The hippo's texture is made by Masterj2001 from Artstation website. I reached out to him for permission and for the hippo design, and he agreed. I manually edited it though using paint.net to use the existing shotgun shell texture from vanilla Starfield and edited the texture into a standalone one for the shell. I don't remember which text type exactly, but I possibly got it from dafont.com for the 8 GAUGE text for the Shotgun shell texture to make the 8 gauge shotgun shell even more unique. To clarify, it's still kinda WIP, because the unique shotgun shell crate for the 8 gauge ammo case thing when crafting or picking the ammo up has the same vanilla ammoshotgun.nif thing, meaning I did not make the unique shotgun shell crate replacing the ammoshotgun.nif thing. When you craft the 8 gauge ammo, the display of it when crafting it still shows the vanilla 12-gauge ammo crate from the ammoshotgun.nif. The ammoshotgun.nif is not included in this mod obviously, because as I said, am unable to make it unique ATM. Anyways, props to fauntane for making the Halo Shotgun replacer mod as a source material for the standalone mod, props to Masterj2001 for making the hippo art style design based on the Halo Shotgun shell from Halo and maybe props to the dafont.com website as a source material for the 8 GAUGE text for the shotgun shell.
You can craft the shotgun weapon and ammo from the Industrial Workbench. Enjoy!
Adds the Halo M90 Shotgun as a standalone weapon that coexists with the Old Earth pump-action shotguns. A niche cosmetic/weapon mod with 60 endorsements and over 18,000 downloads, last updated in July 2026.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download count (18,526) shows real interest in the Halo shotgun.
- Standalone design means it won't replace your existing shotguns.
- Recently updated (July 2026), so it's likely still maintained.
⚠️ Cons
- Endorsement count is modest (60) compared to downloads, so it's not a community favorite.
- No gameplay changes beyond the weapon itself – it's purely an addition.
- Potential compatibility issues with other weapon mods that alter shotgun spawns or balance.
For Halo fans who want the iconic M90 shotgun in their game without losing the vanilla pump-action shotguns. Also for players who enjoy adding themed weapons for variety. Skip if you're looking for a full weapon overhaul or deep gameplay changes.
