📋 About This Mod
Description
Enemy health values, aggression AI, and height variations all exist on the same Actor forms, which creates mod conflicts. Whichever mod loads last overwrites the others. Rather than living in patch hell, this mod combines all three changes into one.
Features
All enemies no longer gain health per level. In vanilla, every enemy had (20 health × their level) + base health. Now they use only their base health, as listed below.
Robots & Turrets
-
[]Robots: base health reduced from 400–2,000 down to 200–1,000; Damage Resistance halved[/]
[]Turrets: Damage Resistance halved[/]
-
[]Base health changed from 70–1,000 to 100–500; Damage Resistance halved[/]
[]Intended strength hierarchy is preserved (e.g., a level 62 UC Marine Colonel has 500 health, while a level 62 Crimson Fleet member does not, only the level 98 Pirate Legend reaches 500)[/]
[]All human enemies now have size variety, increased aggression, and will not flee combat regardless of your level[/]
-
[]Base health reduced from 590–1,430 down to 500–1,000[/]
[]Damage Resistance unchanged, keeping them more dangerous than humans[/]
[]Now have size variety (male Starborn can be taller than female)[/]
[]All Starborn are more aggressive[/]
-
[]Aceles: health reduced from 1,950–13,500 down to 1,500–7,000; Damage Resistance halved; now have size variety[/]
[]Terrormorphs: health reduced from 1,950–13,000 down to 1,500–7,000; Damage Resistance halved; now have size variety and move 30% faster[/]
[]Terrormorph Elders: health reduced from 2,700–18,520 down to 2,000–10,000; Damage Resistance unchanged (making them harder than regular Terrormorphs); now have size variety and can be significantly larger; move 15% faster[/]
-
[]Redeemed: Damage Resistance halved; size variety added[/]
[]Vortex Horrors: Damage Resistance halved; size variety added; will not flee combat[/]
[]Vortex Horrorlings: Damage Resistance halved; size variety added[/]
[]Vortex Phantoms: Damage Resistance halved; size variety added[/]
[]Vortex Spawns: Damage Resistance halved; size variety added[/]
Unlike the base game and Shattered Space (where enemy ranks cap around level 100), Terran Armada enemies scale up to level 196, so their high-level health ceilings are higher accordingly.[/b
Grounded Enemies combines enemy AI improvements, reduced health pools, and height variations into a single overhaul. It makes combat faster and more believable by trimming health, enhancing aggression, and adding natural size variety across all enemies, with no patching required. For players seeking a more grounded challenge.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- All-in-one package: AI, health, and size tweaks in a single mod
- No patching required — just install and play
- Active development (last updated June 2026) with 11k downloads
⚠️ Cons
- Low endorsement count (28) relative to downloads — might be underrated or have issues
- No detailed documentation on specific AI changes or height ranges
- Compatibility with other gameplay overhauls is unverified
For players who want faster, more believable combat without juggling multiple mods. Ideal for those tired of bullet-sponge enemies and uniform sizes. Skip if you prefer heavily scripted AI or need granular control over each aspect.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a gameplay overhaul, test it on a new save to avoid mid-game balance issues.
- Check if your other mods affect enemy health or AI — load order might matter.
- If you use a mod manager, install it like any other mod; no special setup needed.
