📋 About This Mod
Archost/enpinion Disk Cache Enabler mod (Nexus id 2245) updated to the current version of the game.
I believe this mod will be most beneficial for players using HDDs. In my tests with the game installed on an SSD, I noticed some reduction in disk usage spikes, but nothing dramatic.
Do not use this mod alongside the original ASI version of Disk Cache Enabler from 2024. Both versions patch the same memory regions in Starfield.exe and will conflict, potentially causing crashes. Choose one or the other — this updated SFSE version is recommended.
Users feedback:
" Is this mod a FPS booster, how come my FPS went up so much, never know this kind of disk spike can hit so hard on the FPS
Really thanks" - iicecube
" saved my playthru was about to give up, thank you" - ItzReece
" I couldn't get any noticeable change with the SSD7505s in RAID10, but I tried it on the Intel P5620, and it does help when loading a lot of objects using the 4/8/16k textures into a cell for the first time, so I have to endorse it.
I think that the RAID10 is already so fast that it wasn't necessary, but on most drives - older SSDs, and especially-especially HDDs, it does help.
I wish I had my ancient IBM Ultrastar RAID10 from 2006 working in this system, because it would be really fun to test on that. Unfortunately, the RAID controller is PCI-X, so it isn't at all compatible with my current system. Those drives are 15k rpm, and I used to average 350MB/s read/write with them, so pretty good for HDDs, especially in 2006.
Anyway, this does work, and it is useful for most applications, so I recommend it!" - Frazzlesnap
" Thank you very much! Thanks for carrying an essential mod into the latest version of SF.
This does help with fps/lags especially with heavy load orders." - thappysnek
