Human Eye Auto Exposure

~~INSTRUCTIONS~~ Open the console command window with ` and then type in one of the following that are highlighted in blue: run Dexposure . 980 Real Planet Brightness Auto Exposure (This is what ya'll are used to and what is represented in the screenshots) run DexposureVR Same as Dexposure with slow adaptation to dark run Dv A good in-between from SE's Normal Exposure and Dexposure. run DvVR Same as Dv but with more realistic adaption rate. run Dn This is Normal Auto with qol improvements and clamped max exposure and is the most realistic (WIP) run DnVR Same as Dn but with slow dark adaptation which is even more realistic (WIP) run Dreset Resets to SE's default auto exposure ~~End instructions~~ This is an attempt to mimic how our eyes plus brain handle exposure to different brightness's. Planets far our in a system will dim properly and planets close to a star will overexpose when the eye can no longer keep up. The night side of planets with lighting similar to Earth also now more closely match what you would actually see. Note: For best results have Scale at 0. 5 and Overbright at 0 in the visual settings. Update: 7-01-2026 -Added several new scripts for a more realistic approach -Rebranded the old Dexposure to . 980 Real Planet Brightness -Added dependency to Improved Atmospheric Rendering (Keeps nights from blowing up at high exposures) Known Limitations: The human eye has a wider dynamic range than SE's exposure. I am working on/looking into solutions. This is the start of a refactoring of this mod. :)
