Primordia - A Realistic Quasi-Star

A Quasi Star is a hypothetical monster from the early universe. It is a massive, cool, red supergiant powered not by nuclear fusion, but by a Black Hole eating it from the inside out. I built this mod to force Space Engine to render a (mostly) accurate representation of these ancient giants, and I parked it right in our backyard at 20 light years from Earth. Meet Primordia. Technically, Space Engine does not support Quasi Stars natively. To make this work, I had to trick the engine. Primordia renders as a massive Zirconium Star (Class S) with a Black Hole clipped into the exact center. It looks like a star from the outside, but it is actually a shell of gas being held up by the energy of a singularity. The Stats: Radius: Approx 46 AU. (For context, the distance from Earth to Pluto is only 40 AU. If you put this star in our Solar System, every single planet would be inside it.) Temperature: 3000K (Deep Red Orange). Distance: 20 Light Years from the Sun. Core: A 1,000 Solar Mass Black Hole hidden deep inside the plasma shell. HOW TO SEE THE BLACK HOLE (Important): You cannot simply fly through the surface of Primordia because the game treats the star as a solid object and will stop your camera. To see the engine inside you must follow these steps: Select Primordia. Open the Solar System Browser (Left toolbar) or simply look for the orbital lines going inside the star. Find and select the Black Hole component (or select one of the internal stars). Press G (Go To). This will force the camera to clip through the outer shell, placing you inside the star where you can see the singularity and accretion disk spinning in the void.
