GN-z11

GN-z11 is one of the farthest galaxies ever discovered, located about 13. 4 billion light-years away in the northern sky. This galaxy was formed approximately 400 million years after the Big Bang, during the early stages of the universe when galaxies were still forming. GN-z11 has an irregular shape, unlike more developed galaxies that typically have a distinct spiral or disk structure. It is mostly made up of very young stars that are actively forming, which gives the galaxy a chaotic and scattered appearance. Additionally, because GN-z11 is located so far away, the light from it is affected by redshift, making it appear redder than it would in closer proximity. In reality, the galaxy contains a lot of young, hot stars, meaning it would predominantly feature bright blue and white stars. When recreating GN-z11 in SpaceEngine, the focus was on emphasizing its irregular structure and regions filled with actively forming stars, with bright blue stars at the center and a reddish hue due to redshift blending into the overall color palette.
