Synthetic Defect

Synthetic Defect is a 13-card expansion for The Defect in Slay the Spire 2.

The mod adds a new keyword: Consume.

Consume removes your leftmost Orb without Evoking it. This creates a new kind of Defect playstyle where you can break down your current Orb setup and convert it into draw, energy, block, cost reduction, or Power synergies.

The goal is to give The Defect a different kind of orb economy: instead of only Channeling and Evoking, you can use your Orbs as fuel for stronger turns.

Current features:

- 13 new Defect cards

- New keyword: Consume

- New Power-focused synergies

- New ways to convert Orbs into draw, energy, block, and discounts

- Commons, Uncommons, and Rares

- Fully playable

Important note:

This is a WIP release. The mod works and the cards are playable, but the card art is currently placeholder/beta art. Final artwork will be added in a future update.

Requirements:

- Slay the Spire 2

- BaseLib 3. 3. 5 or newer

Installation:

1. Install BaseLib for Slay the Spire 2.

2. Place SyntheticDefect.dll and SyntheticDefect.json in your Slay the Spire 2 mods folder.

3. Launch the game using Play with Mods.

Compatibility:

This mod only adds new cards and does not replace vanilla cards. It should be compatible with most mods unless they heavily modify The Defect card pool, card generation, Orb behavior, or BaseLib internals.

Feedback is welcome.

I am especially interested in balance feedback, bug reports, and opinions about whether Consume feels fun, too strong, or too punishing.
