Card Upgrader - Gamble Your Cards

Upgrade your cards. Push your luck.

After every combat you can bet on one card of your deck: pick what to improve and how much, then spin the dial. The bigger the upgrade, the lower the chance.

How it works

• []Win and the card goes holographic with its new numbers. Risky wins can also give it a rare trait.

  []Lose and the card gets a permanent drawback: it may cost more, hurt you, or refuse to be played first.

  []Elite scrolls add +10% chance. Boss scrolls add +20% and always appear.

  What's inside

  • []Works on almost every number of every card, for all characters.

    []8 traits: Bloodthirst, Fortify, Inexhaustible, Echo, Awakening, Legacy, Venomous, Lifesteal.

    []11 drawbacks, from Vulnerable to Sealed or Thief.

    []2 relics: Seal of Fate undoes your first failure on each scroll. Oracle's Inkwell raises your chance by 50%.

    []1 potion: Ink of Fortune doubles the chance of one bet.

    []1 event: The Cardsharp sells you a scroll with better odds, for gold or Max HP.

    Settings

    • []Main menu > Mod Configuration > Card Upgrader.

      []Presets: Normal, Easy and Hard. Or tune it all yourself.

      []Scroll chance and count for normal fights, elites and bosses.

      []Odds, every drawback and trait one by one, relics, potion and the Cardsharp.

      []How often a failure leaves a drawback: from always to never.

      []Two live graphs show what your numbers do.

      []Test bench: try any card on the scroll with your settings. Spin as much as you want, nothing is saved.

      []In co-op, the host's settings are used.

      Good to know

      • []Single-player and co-op. In co-op, everyone needs the same version. Co-op is new, so tell me if something breaks.

        []English and Spanish. Other languages show English.

        []Balance is still early. If something feels too strong or too weak, leave a comment.

        Installation

        • []Needs BaseLib 3. 3. 8 or newer. Without it, the game skips Card Upgrader.

          []Extract both zips into your Slay the Spire 2/mods folder (create it if it doesn't exist). You should end up with mods/cardupgrader/cardupgrader.json and mods/BaseLib/BaseLib.json.

          []Updating from 0. 4.x: replace the whole cardupgrader folder.

          []Launch the game: it loads the mod on its own. Modded runs use a separate save profile from your normal ones.

          []Don't install it from Nexus and the Steam Workshop at the same time: the game would load it twice.

          []Co-op: every player needs the same version of the mod.
