Card Art Editor was created to make replacing card artwork in Slay the Spire 2 simple and convenient.

Instead of manually editing files, this mod adds a button to the card inspection screen so you can quickly replace card art using your own images. It is designed for players who want an easy way to personalize cards, experiment with different artwork, or share edited card art with others.

The mod supports both static images and animated GIFs. Imported files are automatically converted to the correct card format, and manual adjustment tools are included when you want finer control over the final positioning.

Open a card’s detail view and press the card image edit button to open the editor popup. This popup is where you can import images, apply Art Packs, change display options, and restore edited cards.

Import Local Image

Use this when you want to change only the currently selected card’s artwork.

You can select an image file from your PC and apply it directly to the current card. Supported formats are

PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF..

This is best for single-card edits.

Import Art Pack

Use this when you want to load a saved Art Pack into the mod.

An Art Pack contains multiple card images. After importing one, you can apply it to individual cards, all matching cards, or cards by category depending on the available options.

This is best when you downloaded an Art Pack from another user or want to apply many card images at once.

Export Art Pack

Use this when you want to share your edited card images as an Art Pack.

The mod will collect your currently edited card images and save them into an Art Pack file. Other users can import that file through the Art Pack import feature.

This is useful for backing up your edits or distributing your custom card art.

Extract Mod Pack

Use this when another mod changes card images through a .pck

The extractor reads image files from that mod pack and tries to automatically match them to the correct cards. This can help avoid conflicts when using Card Art Editor

together with other card image replacement mods.

Apply Art Pack to Current Card

Use this when an imported Art Pack contains an image for the card you are currently viewing.

You can choose one of the available Art Pack variants and apply it only to the current card.

Apply Art Pack to All Cards

Use this to apply the selected Art Pack to every matching card at once.

Only cards that have matching images inside the Art Pack will be changed.

Apply Art Pack by Category

Use this to apply the selected Art Pack only to a specific card category, such as

Ironclad , Silent , Regent , Necrobinder , Defect , Colorless , or Curse

This is useful when you want to combine multiple Art Packs, for example using one pack for Silent cards and another pack for Defect cards.

Restore Current Card

Use this to remove the custom image from the currently selected card and return it to the original artwork.

Restore All Cards

Use this to remove all custom card images applied by the mod.

This does not delete imported Art Packs, but it resets the cards back to their original artwork.

Full Art

Full Art changes the card display so the custom image fills more of the card frame.

This works best with images designed for full-card artwork. Some images may need adjustment depending on their size and composition.

Move Text Outside

This option moves the card text area outside the artwork area when using compatible card layouts.

If you cannot find this option, open the settings panel from the gear icon in the popup.

Open the settings panel with the gear icon in the editor popup.

From here, you can change extra display options such as full-art related settings, text display options, GIF playback behavior, and other visual preferences.
