📋 About This Mod
THIS MOD IS OBSOLETE & UNSUPPORTED!
Use XP32 True Ragdoll Phsyics instead!
Only use this if you have STILL have problems lifting bodies!
I'd also recommend using Death Drop Overhaul which forces dead NPCs to drop their weapons.
Make Sure This Overwrites:
meshes\actors\character\character assets\skeleton.nif
meshes\actors\character\character assets\skeletonbeast.nif
meshes\actors\character\character assets female\skeleton_female.nif
meshes\actors\character\character assets female\skeletonbeast_female.nif
Technical Stuff:
Some of the masses used in the meshes were set too high, that's it. And it seems like anything over 10Kg on a single node straight-up breaks the physics engine for some people. That or they're being treated as gravitational multipliers or something. Because the bodies seem to get pulled down at ridiculous rates with the original skeletons. Like the planet suddenly turned into a super-magnet for dead NPCs. You'll notice that even once their bodies have collapsed, their limbs won't fully rest until they're also sucked down and touching the terrain.
Supports:
- Simple Dual Sheath
- Vera's Female Skeleton
- Bigger XPMSSE Skeleton Collision Bounds
- Skyrim VR using LoneBoco's XP32 First Person Skeleton CTD patch.
This is an obsolete and unsupported patch for XP32 (XPMSSE) that fixes body lifting physics by correcting excessive mass values in skeleton meshes. It's only for users who still have problems lifting bodies after using XP32 True Ragdoll Physics. The mod overwrites specific skeleton files and supports Simple Dual Sheath, Vera's Female Skeleton, Bigger XPMSSE Skeleton Collision Bounds, and Skyrim VR with a CTD patch.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Directly addresses a specific physics bug that makes dead bodies get sucked to the ground
- Small and focused patch, easy to install with clear overwrite instructions
- Compatible with several popular skeleton mods and Skyrim VR
⚠️ Cons
- Obsolete and unsupported, author explicitly recommends using XP32 True Ragdoll Physics instead
- Only useful if you still have body lifting problems after using the recommended mod
- May conflict with other skeleton mods that modify the same files
For Skyrim modders who have persistent body lifting issues even after installing XP32 True Ragdoll Physics. If you're a completionist who wants to fix every physics quirk, this patch is for you. Skip it if you're using the recommended mod and don't have problems, or if you want a supported solution.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure this mod overwrites the listed skeleton files in your mod manager, otherwise it won't work.
- If you're on Skyrim VR, grab LoneBoco's XP32 First Person Skeleton CTD patch to avoid crashes.
- Pair it with Death Drop Overhaul to stop dead NPCs from holding onto their weapons, which can affect physics.
