📋 About This Mod
After countless hours of work, this is the new and upgraded Whiterun Has Walls, redone from the grounds up, once again for the third (and final) time!
After hundreds of hours of painful and tedious work, I'm happy to present this new and improved version:
Wooden windowed walls made more sense both aesthetically and from a defensive standpoint than the crenelated wooden railings in v2. Railings on the exterior are taller, to provide sufficient cover for soldiers and guards.
Roofs are far more realistic now, and their look is far less repetitive than what it used to be in 2. 0, partly due to the use of a different texture. Round towers get a more realistic shape, fitting a more medieval vibe, with a point.
In addition... a very requested feature: machicolations! Finally you'll be able to shoot through holes in the floor :)
Wall transitions have been overhauled, with brand new meshes to fill all the gaps. Walking the entire length of the walls, you'll hardly ever see any gap that's not supposed to be there.
Jorrvaskr gets some new unique walls, befitting the home of some legendary warriors!
A major performance boost! (hopefully)The new meshes, surprisingly, should come with a significant performance boost, due to the lower poly count (I know, surprising!) and more importantly fewer shapes! You should see a reduction in drawcalls, more specifically.
Having a very strong PC myself, I cannot show you any meaningful proof of this, but let me know in the comments :)
Of course, the update fixes the long standing issues of the mod
