📋 About This Mod
Vanilla Purity Patch is a mod that aims to keep Bethesda's intended vision and design philosophy intact in a modded setup. Some mods may make changes that infringe on the vanilla game's intended balance or lore, that's where this mod comes in. It restores some of the vanilla charm and ensures no bugs or erroneous edits are reintroduced. My goal was just to restore objective design choices and include meaningful changes to keep the mod lightweight, simple, and bug free. Unlike similar mods such as Purist's Vanilla Patch or a Puristnt's Edited Patch, this mod does not reintroduce any bugs or exploits. Often those mods are too liberal with their changes (or I guess in this case, conservative) and reintroduce issues that mods were trying to fix. Every change in this mod was carefully selected and made to be as objective as possible; no subjective reasoning for vanilla design choices that could be more easily argued against or that were simply mistakes. All appropriate community fixes are preserved.
If you have any suggestions for vanilla-isms you think should be included in this mod, please let me know in the posts. Exploits are not and will not be restored, so please don't ask about those. Grammar and text changes are usually not restored as they're simply too much of a hassle to keep up with and bloat the mod with lots of edits, so for those use Vanilla Plus Writing Purity Patch. (Be warned though, that mod is quite old and not up to date.)
Load early in your load order, but after bugfix compilations. If you use my mod Misc Bugfix Compilation, load it after this mod. This mod has no requirements and can be used with whatever you want. Make sure you don't clean it with xEdit though, or you'll end up destroying the plugin. All the ITMs are intentional.
