Unique Farmhouse Architecture - Dawnstar (Base Object Swapper)

Even though Dawnstar is considered a hold capital, it consists of the same farmhouse architecture found throughout Skyrim. This mod attempts to give Dawnstar it's own identity by replacing the vanilla farmhouse architecture with unique models.

Apart from the roofs, the buildings mostly retain their original features. This was done to ensure the mod remains as compatible as possible by sticking as close as I could to the vanilla building 'footprints'.

All meshes also retain vanilla texture paths. This helps ensure that the look of the new buildings do not stray to far from the vanilla game's visual design as I want everything to still feel coherent. Textures featured in my screenshots are from Skyland AIO, your textures will depend on your personal load order. My Screenshots also feature Simplicity Of Snow and Farmhouse Chimneys SE, integrated via the optional patches.

The interior meshes were altered as well to match the exterior stone walls and replace the thatch ceilings with wooden planks.

Custom LOD (Level Of Detail) meshes, that better match the new buildings, have also been added. Note: Requires DynDOLOD to be re-run before they will appear.

Meshes are based on SMIM with additional rounding added to the poles and pillars with visible ends, in a similar manner as mods like Optional Round FarmHouse Posts and Round Posts for Destroyed Farmhouses and Inns.

All changes are implemented using Base Object Swapper, including the patches (the only exception being the Better Dynamic Snow patch). No world space edits were made. Swaps only affect the Dawnstar area, so all other farmhouse architecture outside of Dawnstar will remain unchanged. Buildings covered by this mod include: Farmhouses 1-6, Long House, Inn, Blacksmith and the Lumber Mill. City expansion mods adding new buildings to the city should thus be covered as well.

Plugins have been flagged as ESL and makes use of the older 1. 70 header version, thus the plugins are compatible with game versions all the way back to 1. 5. 97 as well as Skyrim VR.

Optional File Descriptions:

Simplicity Of Snow Patch : Replaces the Main File meshes with ones that include necessary modifications to ensure compatibility with SOS.

Better Dynamic Snow Patch : Replaces the Main File meshes with ones that include necessary modifications to ensure compatibility with BDS. The plugin assigns new snow shader parameters to the necessary meshes to ensure consistency with the base BDS mod.

JK's Skyrim and/or The Great City Of Dawnstar Patch : Replaces the thatch canopies added to some of the building porches with ones made from planks. Can be used along with either mod.

Farmhouse Chimneys Patch : Changes the stone texture of the chimneys to match the rest of the buildings.
