Superb Serana - Default body and texture patch

This will redirect the Superb Serana mod to use your default body and textures.  This does require some manual tweaking on your part to fix her head since I can't redistribute my modified facegen unless I hear back from the original author.  This mod is mergeable if you wish so it will not take an ESP slot (Wrye Bash will suggest that and automatically do it for you if you make a Bashed Patch).

Installation

- Install Superb Serana (screenshots taken with v1. 40SE but this should work with any version)

- Install this mod

Now we need to fix her head.  Her facegen points at custom textures so you can either fix that by modifying her facegen to point those textures to the default path (which is easy), or by copying your default female head textures to overwrite the custom textures in that path.  If you change her facegen then Serana will automatically update her textures any time you change your default female body textures.  If you use the copy method you'll have to redo that part each time you change textures.

You only need to do 1 of the 2 methods below, either Facegen method or Copy method.

Facegen tweak (preferred option)

- open up the following file in the Superb Serana mod using NifScope /meshes/actors/character/facegendata/facegeom/Dawnguard.esm/00002B6C.nif

- check the screenshots I have provided and change the texture paths I have highlighted in red to match the ones I have highlighted in green

Copy method (you will have to redo this any time you change your default textures or you'll get a neck seam)

- copy the following files from your default texture mod \textures\actors\character\female

femalehead.dds

femalehead_msn.dds

femalehead_s.dds

femalehead_sk.dds

- overwrite those files in your Superb Serana mod at \textures\actors\character\SuperbSerana

You're done.  She will now use whatever your default body and texture is.  Bodyslide will also work for her if you're using that.

If Serana's head is not the same color as her body then you skipped the 2 steps above to redirect/overwrite her head textures.  If her head is purple/white/blue/sparkly/etc then you messed up the texture path in her facegen.  You do not want anything in the texture path that starts before \textures (using the browser instead of typing it in manually is probably the most common way people would mess this up).
