📋 About This Mod
Doesn't work with Open Cities. Couldn't find conflicts in SSEdit. Don't know how to fix. If anyone knows let me know. Til then, it won't be compatible. Thanks!
New Versions. Dogs have names, Dogs have names as well as Jarls have dogs.
Adds a handful of Dogs to a few towns. Added White, Black and Brown dogs. Also added a new bark that is less piercing. Video in description. Does not overwrite existing dogs. However, Bark is overwritten. IF you use a silencer, it should be fine if this is placed before that. I would assume the silencer will overwrite the barks. :O
Find a 1-3 extra dogs in these towns: Falkreath, Riverwood, Windhelm, Riften, Markarth, Whiterun and Solitude.
Main file for extra dogs, Optional file for SOUND REPLACER ONLY.
BARK VIDEO:

Adds 1-3 extra dogs to seven Skyrim towns (Falkreath, Riverwood, Windhelm, Riften, Markarth, Whiterun, Solitude) with new white, black, and brown variants. Also includes a new, less piercing bark sound, available as a separate optional file. Known incompatibility with Open Cities, but no other conflicts found in SSEdit. Popular with 748 endorsements and over 13k downloads.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 748 endorsements and over 13k downloads.
- Simple, lightweight addition that makes towns feel more alive without overhauling anything.
- New bark sound is a nice touch—less piercing than vanilla, and you can install it separately if you just want the audio.
⚠️ Cons
- Doesn't work with Open Cities—if you use that mod, you'll have to skip this one.
- The bark sound overwrites vanilla barks, so load order matters if you use other sound mods.
- Only adds dogs to seven towns—if you were hoping for a full Skyrim-wide dog expansion, this is more of a small flavor mod.
For Skyrim players who want a bit more life in major towns without a big overhaul. If you're a dog lover or just want some extra companions wandering around, this is a quick and easy addition. Skip it if you use Open Cities or if you're looking for a major gameplay change—this is purely cosmetic and ambient.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you use Open Cities, this mod won't work—check your load order and consider skipping it.
- Place this mod before any sound mods that alter barks, so the silencer or other audio mods can overwrite if needed.
- The optional file is just the sound replacer—grab the main file for the dogs themselves.
